And with the inaugural post of this blog, I’ll deliver some huge news from the NFL. Today the Denver Broncos announced that starting Left Tackle Ryan Clady will miss the rest of the season with a foot injury. The team placed the Pro Bowler on Injured Reserve after he suffered a tear in the Lisfranc joint in his left foot during Sunday’s win versus the Giants in Metlife Stadium. This could be a huge blow to the Broncos, who have very realistic Super Bowl aspirations. Peyton Manning, who has been spectacular this season with 9 touchdown passes in 2 games (including 7 on opening night), loses his blind side protector. Clady had been a rock solid staple for Denver, starting all 82 games since being taken with the 12th pick in the first round back in 2008 out of Boise State. To top it off, Ryan Clady had just signed a $57.5 million dollar extension before training camp. To make up for the loss of Clady, the Broncos have signed veteran free agent tackle Winston Justice, but plan to start 5-year-man Chris Clark in Clady’s place, at least for the time being. The Denver Broncos host the Oakland Raiders next Monday night (9/23).
